Why Bellingen?

Bellingen is our place
While Bellingen Law is new to the area, the people who work in it are not.
Savannah grew up in Bellingen and Linda has made the valley her home for more than 30 years.
Bellingen Law is located right here because of the people, community and experiences that provide a special quality of life: a trip to the IGA to buy 2 litres of milk can take half an hour; the women in the Swiss Patiss know which pies your children like, even when you don’t; the gift shop owners actually know the person you’re buying for and can tell you what they want; because Warren Weick waves from the school bus and toots encouragement when you’re trudging up hills trying to get fit; the joy of the incredible Kalang Winter Solstice bonfire; the annual floods that bring neighbours together; and the valuing of contributions you make to the community and what your passion is more than what you earn or do for a living.
Finally, and because without coercion or reward, 13 people show up to transform a hairdressing salon into a law office in one weekend.
Bellingen is just that kind of place.
Environmental Impact
We are doing our best to reduce the environmental impact of our business. Our office is run on solar elecricity, we use recycled paper and office supplies and support local suppliers wherever possible.
Balijin
We acknowledge and are grateful to the Gumbaynggirr people, the traditional custodians of the land, who have practiced law here since time immemorial developing beautiful and complex patterns of family relationships and kinship systems. We pay our respects to the Gumbaynggirr elders, past, present and emerging and want to play our part in promoting reconciliation and renewal.
